Stampede and Other Updates!
I missed way too many of these in a row, but I’m back with another round of updates! This week, I’ve got some news regarding both Stampede and the Lonely Fortress at long last as well as some info about the Sapphire Verdict! Yes, there has been an update there! Let’s dive in!
Stampede
As per this past week, Stampede is officially written! It feels oddly surreal to complete this one for reasons I don’t fully understand, but, regardless, I’m super excited to have this one nearing completion! Editing will begin soon and should last a little over a month, and then Stampede will be sent out for everyone to enjoy! Cover work has also already begun on it and will truly pick up speed this weekend, so keep an eye out for an update there!
Since I already put a blurb for this in a previous blogpost, I won’t repeat myself, but get ready for a LOT of Guardians! It is a Stampede, after all!
The Lonely Fortress
At long last the cover hiccup has been resolved by… myself… Yep, I got sick of it and did it myself in my usual art style. It was a little rushed, but you can tell I’ve had dramatic improvements in my environment art specifically. My characters are a little shaky, but hey, at least it’s done!
What does this mean? It means that The Lonely Fortress will be dropping within the next two weeks! I will be working this weekend on getting Amazon listings setup for it so we can open preorders, and then it’s off to the races! I’m looking forward to seeing what people think of the sequel, and I’m hoping the existence of a sequel at all will make this universe a little more enticing to read! For anyone reading this, the number of planned books is double digits, and it’s not on the small end!
The Sapphire Verdict
The Sapphire Verdict’s manuscript is, once again, complete, but this time for real! The word count has been massively cut down, and the story has been reformatted to get rid of the ‘dead’ chapters and make the events at the Sanctum a little more interesting. Also, one other reason I wanted to redo it is because some things were added to the story after it was already written. This was like… eight years ago, just to be clear. Anyway, it occurred to me that I would have written the story differently if I had known about that change, so I changed it!
What’s next, you might ask? Well, the process now is deciding whether to try and do traditional publishing or self-publishing, which is a little bit more… distressing, given how much this book means to me and others. I am going to do some more edits to it in terms of cutting content to shrink it a little more and do some soul searching, and then we’ll see where things end up! Either way, lots of big developments are coming soon!
Art
There are multiple art pieces in progress right now. I’m nearly done animating the horse-sized lizard and should be able to post that soon, and that, of course, means that the next Youtube video is nearly ready to go! Additionally, the Lonely Fortress cover is being turned into a youtube video as well, so expect two more big videos here soon! In fact, I might try and make time for that this weekend, just so everyone knows I’m not dead!
Conclusion
I don’t have much else to cover right now, just purely because I’m crunched for time. I’m hoping to make more time for this soon, but the blog is very low priority in the grand scheme of things. I won’t promise anything specific for next week, especially given the number of big things I have planned to be working on, so we’ll see what happens next week and what I choose to post!
