Feera, the Pyro Alchemist!

Welcome back to yet another blog! As promised last week, this week’s blog covers Feera, Vianna’s trusty friend and a borderline closeted pyromaniac! Let’s hop straight into it!

Home

Since we covered the world of Harmonizer last week, we’re going to start off by talking more about where Feera comes from, and that’s the city of Ankila! If you read last week’s post, don’t worry, because this one has some more fun details about the city itself!

Ankila is a desert city situated on the northern border of a vast dune desert. Tucked within a u-shaped mountain, life in Ankila is the very definition of sandy. The atmosphere is always hot, the roads are dusty, and life isn’t prosperous, but Ankila manages to thrive thanks to its vast mining enterprise.

What we didn’t cover last week was the layout of Ankila. Ankila is largely built on the cliffs surrounding the mining pit at the city’s heart. One can find rigging, scaffolding, and large nets stretched up these towering cliffs which people use to get to the different tiers of the massive city. These structures tend to be a bit rickety, something that carries over to the rest of Ankila.

Across the eastern side of the city, one can find windmills and timber buildings perched atop the very tops of the massive mountains that frame the city’s heart. A large ravine dominates this side of the city and has numerous rickety bridges that cross from one side to the other. Within the inner part of the city, just past these bridges, one can find all manner of sandstone homes. These homes are very simplistic, typically only one or two rooms, and are often built in a stair stepped manner across each other.

Other parts of the city are a lot cleaner, particularly on the western side of the city. Here, one can find the city’s Scholarium, an academic place of learning. This structure is large with a more artistic design, and one can find students learning all around the clock. Given her studious nature, it’s only natural that one would find the focus of this week’s blog, Feera

Feera

Feera is a light green sellena, but, unlike Vianna, she was not blessed with size or strength. Clocking in at around 6 feet tall, Feera is considered to be a runt among her people. She’s often bullied for her small size, and even her own mother looks down on her for something that poor Feera can’t even control. Because of her largely outcast social status, Feera was left to her own devices, and this led her towards academics.

What Feera ;acks in brawn she more than makes up for with her intelligence. Much of her childhood was spent learning in libraries on whatever subjects fancied her. This fascination with learning is ultimately what allowed her to jump so far ahead of her class, and while she could have used her intellect to move on to any kind of vocation, she found herself attracted to Alchemy!

Feera’s alchemy obsession began at an incredibly young age. Upon finding a book describing Alchemy, she became enamored with the fantasy of it and did her best to learn all she could. For the first few years, she specialized in making potions that caused fires and explosions, but steadily worked her way up to more complicated recipes. By the time she reached twenty years old, she was well versed on mixing potions for medical aid, adhesive use, and all manner of pyrotechnics!

Additionally, her focus on alchemy has allowed her to become a chief expert on all manners of plants and minerals. She knows all the plants and minerals one can find anywhere near Ankila, and she knows how to mix them all into a variety of different potions.

With her incredible gift for alchemy, she has become well-known in Ankila as the chief authority on anything alchemy related. As such, Feera was able to achieve part of her dream and open a small alchemy shop. While it experiences quite a bit of success, Feera still dreams of one day opening the alchemy shop of her dreams!

Social Life

Feera’s social life is somewhat nonexistent. She spends most of her time working through books and experimenting with new recipes, so she doesn’t often get out and socialize. Being bullied by so many people meant that her friends were far and few, but she was able to make one truly best friend that has been with her almost for her entire life, and that’s Vianna!

When Feera first went to the Scholarium as a child, she was subjected to the same mixing ceremony the other children partook in. All of the children were largely tossed together and encouraged to socialize. While Feera did her best to make friends, no one wanted anything to do with a runt. For a time, it seemed like Feera wouldn’t make any friends, but then the two extremes in the room caught each other’s eyes.

Where Feera was the shortest child by far, Vianna was the biggest. When Feera met Vianna, she was briefly struck by fear over her size, but quickly, and excitedly, ran up to greet what she thought was a ‘dragon.’ This innocent mix-up changed Feera’s life, because the two of them instantly became fast friends!

Vianna and Feera did everything together. They visited the local carnivals, caused havoc at the shops, and often got in trouble at school together, usually because of Vianna’s terrible ideas. They were inseparable, especially after the tragedy of Vianna’s parents, and remain the closest friends possible! In their relationship, Feera is the brains to Vianna’s brawn, and she would do anything in order to help and protect her big friend!

Of course, Vianna isn’t Feera’s only friend. Because of her relationship with Vianna, Feera is also friends with Vianna’s baby sister, Aiya. They two of them get along quite well because of their shared bond of scholarly subjects and often hang out together, though not nearly as much as Feera and Vi do.

Additionally, Feera is friends with Aiya’s boyfriend, Garrin. While they don’t have many shared interests, Feera is at least on friendly terms with Garrin and has some shared interests because of his blacksmithing.

While Feera’s circle of friends is a little on the small side, she wouldn’t dream of exchanging them for anyone else. Her friends mean the absolute world to her, and she wouldn’t hesitate to help any of them if they ever needed it!

Dreams

Feera’s biggest dream is to one day open the greatest alchemy shop in the world! While her current shop is nice, its selection of potions is quite limited, and she wants a shop full of every recipe the world could possibly know! Every experiment she performs brings her closer and closer to finding every recipe possible, and a life changing disaster presents an opportunity that not even she is aware of.

Harmonizer

When Vianna’s sister falls ill, Feera doesn’t hesitate to jump at the chance to help her. Throwing on her pack and bringing along her most powerful mixtures, Feera sets out with Vianna to the Tower of the Gods. She is just as stunned as Vi when the tower opens, and meeting Estria changes her view of the world completely! She’s suddenly presented with technology and information she couldn’t begin to imagine, but, at the end of the day, all she cares about is helping her friend!

Alongside Vi, she will face off against the overwhelming power of the Guardians, but her small size doesn’t matter when their enemy is hundreds of feet tall! With her immaculate knowledge of potions and explosives, she will bring to bear a unique advantage that will help even the odds against the colossal titans, and with her potions backing Vianna’s brute strength, there’s every bit the chance they might just pull off their quest and save the world!

Conclusion

And that’s a wrap! I hope you enjoyed this introduction to Vianna’s small partner in crime, and you can definitely expect more from this closeted pyromaniac in the future! Next week, we’ll cover Garrin and more of the city the three of our heroes call home. After that… well, I might have a surprise character in store that we have only briefly discussed so far! Anyone care to learn more about the strange apparition of light guiding them on their quest?

Cheers!
