The Glass Lakes
Time for another chapter! This week, the Glass Lakes has been released upon the world, and we are quickly closing in on the finale of Tearna’s Journal! Let’s hop in and discuss!
The Glass Lakes
Just north of the Archipelago is a sprawling marshland home to a number of massive lakes. The water’s here are almost completely calm, and are known around the world for their stunning reflective quality. Mist seems to constantly cloud the landscape and settlements are few and far between, but this region isn’t nearly as unexplored as the Archipelago! With most of her journey complete, there are only a few locations left for Tearna to explore, so she finds herself moving north through these famous lakes. Along the way, she encounters many rare and mystical sights, including the city of Sombera and its popular shipping services. What sights will she find on these silent lakes, and just what type of relationships will she begin to foster with those close to her.
The Glass Lakes stands as the fourth to last entry in Tearna’s Journal. These lakes are largely undeveloped in Tearna’s time with Sombera being the only large settlement, but these lakes will eventually become home to a number of towns and villages by the time Sapphiria exists. This entry serves to build a foundation upon which future story elements in Sapphiria’s tale will be built upon, including some pretty pivotal moments in her personal life. For now, the day belongs to Tearna, and she will also begin discovering just what could be possible after her work is finished!
The Sapphire Verdict Update!
Small update on where I currently am. I have the book down to 225,000 words, which is obviously fantastic, and have been making substantial progress on cutting down further. I do believe I see a path towards the word count that I need it to reach, but it’s still going to be at least a month before it’s close enough. All that being said, I genuinely do see light at the end of this tunnel, and it’s crossed my mind that soon I’ll be providing updates about the second part of this tale instead of the first!
Conclusion
Wait, that’s it? YES. I. AM. TIRED. Seriously, trying to keep up with the art, video editing, editing the book, making book markers, and coming up with these blogposts is finally taking it’s toll. I’m running on fumes, but I continue to press on. Thankfully, many things are close to being cleared off my docket this week, so I believe a massive reset is just around the corner. Hopefully I can have some time to write more thorough blog posts in the near future, but, for now, this is what you get! Until next time… Cheers!
