Tearna’s Last Entry
After a short hiatus, we are back, and this week is a big one. With a feeling of both excitement, fulfillment, and a weird sense of loss, Tearna’s Journal has received its final update! It has been a long journey, but now it’s time to dive in, one last time, and cover the finale of this research adventure!
Orden
At long last, Tearna and her expedition return to the city where their journey began. Orden is the capital of the Crimson Empire, and effectively the capital of the entire world. It is a large, bustling city at the forefront of both trade and cultural growth, and is home to thousands of people! Most importantly, it is home to the emperor himself, Therisan, as well as the Academy, the premiere institute of knowledge and learning that launched the expedition. While Tearna takes time to document parts of the city for those that have never seen it, most of this final entry covers what happens afterwards to our brave heroes!
After traveling the world, Tearna ultimate goes back to the research life she is familiar with. Farin and Theia finally bind to each other, Bren moves on to become a lecture host, and Kai continues to hang around while working to become an expert on Spiritmarsh. While the adventure seems over, I can firmly say that Tearna’s adventurous spirit is far from extinguished, something that is pretty heavily hinted at in this entry!
At the end of the day though, Orden is introduced here because it is such a focal point for the Sapphire Verdict. Even outside of the present, history continues to unfold in this city again and again, and you can fully expect that some of the biggest twists, reveals, and moments of heartbreak will center around this grand city, even a thousand years into the future!
Hint at the Future
In the final moments of this entry, it’s revealed that there is one last biome that has not been explored, the Frozen Scar. During the Crisis, the Clockwork Armada made a play for this frigid landscape at the roof of the world, but they failed to gain a foot hold. Why did the Armada want access to this frozen hellscape, and what could have possibly turned them away? Those are the questions that both the emperor and the Archons want answered, and with the expedition’s triumphant return, the field is set for one last expedition!
BUT, that is a tale for another time! The Frozen Scar is something that needs to be covered at some point, but it needs to be told at the right time, because I DO know what is up there, and believe me when I say it is NOT something small. Additionally, what is up there has a profound impact on Tearna’s life, and the echoes of what transpires will reverberate through all of the generations that follow her, but none moreso than…
Sapphiria
Surprised that she showed up? You shouldn’t be! It’s only fitting that Sapphiria and Atom make an appearance, especially given Atom’s fondness for reading. When he learned that Sapphiria’s great, great, great grandmother was a famed explorer, he had to investigate and learn all he could, and Sapphiria was more than happy to show him! After all, Tearna is something of a role model and hero to Sapphiria, and they are far more connected than either of them will ever realize.
What Next
NOTHING. Seriously, I am BURNED out on making bookmarkers, and I HAVE to finish the Sapphire Verdict. Speaking of which, I am closing in fast on the 175k word milestone, so the light at the end of the tunnel is about as bright as it could be!
Outside of that, I am focused primarily on art for the time being in terms of free time. I’m still working to grow an audience, which is starting to see some traction, so my focus will be on pokemon art as well as some stuff for the twitch side of things. BUT, I do have things planned! My art skills are continuing to improve dramatically in many ways, and my next target is… Gale! Yes, I know I’ve already done art of her, but I can do it BETTER! I promise! My intent is to do her justice and fix her portrait since we can’t have a critical character have poor art, can we?!
Conclusion
So, with aaaaaaaaaaaaaall of that being said, I hope beyond hope that someone out there has enjoyed Tearna’s Journal. I enjoyed the journey, but am glad that it’s over, and shall now take a well deserved rest. There will not be a blog post next week, but after that, we go back to whatever the new normal is. Once again, as always, thank you, and until next time… CHEERS!
