A Tale of Two Stories

Welcome back! It’s a new week, and we got some stuff to cover, including something that’s a little on the large side! Let’s hop in!

The Sapphire Verdict

First off, let’s just start with a quick update. I’ve begun the process of seeking an agent once again, for the final time for sure this go around! The Sapphire Verdict is fully edited and ready to roll out the door, so now it’s a matter of making a good query letter and finding some people that might like Sapphiria’s story! Does this mean I know when it’s going to be published? Not even slightly! Maybe before the end of the year depending on how badly it goes, or maybe sometime next year. All I can say is stay tuned!

Harmonizer

And now to address the brand new elephant in the room! I am now at the point where I can say with certainty that everyone has something new to look forward to, and that’s the Harmonizer Saga. This has been a story in my head for a long, long time, but it never felt like the right time. Well, as of a few weeks ago, I realized that I do in fact have the ability to work on two stories at the same time with minimal effort given what I’ve learned over the past year. That means it’s finally time to bring Harmonizer to life and share Vianna’s story!

So, what is the Harmonizer. Harmonizer is the story of a girl named Vianna. She is a Selennian, a type of draconic species that’s more leathery instead of scaly, and she’s not good at much. She’s overwhelmingly strong and dutiful, but all of her effort has gone to supporting her sister after her parents died fourteen years ago. She has sacrificed everything for her sister, and all she wants is to see her sister’s dreams come true, but things go sideways when her sister comes down with a plague. With no known cure, she takes the advice of a nearby priest and seeks out a place called the Tower of the Gods, a mysterious structure that has never been open. Supposedly, if it opens, it will grant the wish of whoever enters. IT’s a shot in the dark, but it’s her best bet at saving her sister, so she takes it.

She won’t be alone on this journey, however. She will be accompanied by her best friend, Feera, a bright alchemist that knows quite a bit about the world. In addition, she’ll be accompanied by her sister’s boyfriend, Garrin, much to her chagrin. Together, the trio sets out to find the tower and get a cure for Vianna’s sister, but what they find at the tower is not what they expect. Their entire understanding of the world is flipped on its head, and they are put on a quest to defeat the very gods themselves if they are to have any hope of finding the cure they so desperately need.

Vianna’s character is basically the exact opposite of Sapphiria’s. Instead of being intelligent and overly weak, like Sapphiria, Vianna is incredibly strong, but not exactly the brightest bulb in the strand. Her heart is in the right place, however, and she is a character that I think many people will root for! She has been beaten down all her life and has had so many awful things happen to her, but she always tries to think of others first, even if she doesn’t always do it the right way.

Feera’s character is kinda more like Sapphiria’s in an amusing way. She’s small, not strong, but incredibly intelligent when it comes to alchemy. As a runt, she was bullied fiercely as a young child, but Vianna stepped in to fight her battles for her. They’ve been fast friends all their lives, and Feera is more than happy to offer her expertise to assist Vi on her quest! Feera’s mastery of alchemy means that she knows how to craft anything out in the wild, including salves, industrial elixirs, various types of acid, and a few explosive surprises.

Garrin is the odd man out in the sense that he’s not really either of their friends. He knows Vianna and Feera through Aiya, Vi’s sister, and he’s on friendly enough terms with them both, but Vi doesn’t like him because she sees him as something between her and her sister. As a person, Garrin is quick witted, outgoing, and fairly intelligent. He works as a blacksmith with some dabblings in engineering, but his true interest rests in flight. He wants to be a pilot more than anything else, but for now, he’s stuck with his blacksmithing and working on his slingshot skills!

There’s a LOT about this world to explore and explain, and I will… in time! For now, I can say that we are probably two or three months out from this making a full appearance, but this will NOT be like the Sapphire Verdict! When it’s done and edited, it’s going straight out the door in electronic format, so get yourselves ready! Over the next few months, the Sapphire Nexus will receive updates to support this. I’m just not sure how fully to do it yet…

Oh, and these two universes are connected, just to be clear.

Art

Where the heck is the art?! Well… it’s on the sidelines at the moment. Working so hard on the Twitch starting soon screen only to sideline it really killed my motivation, but I’ve been working on a new piece related to Harmonizer! I’m in a war right now with eyes and perspective on a species I’ve never drawn before, so it’s taking time. However, I am picking up speed, and I’m almost past my first major hurdle! Soon, I will have art to post, and then we can appreciate having a new world to explore!

Twitch

Twitch has taken a back seat, as hinted at pretty heavily. It’s no longer a major part of my focus, and will only be popping up when I feel like it instead on an iron schedule. Sorry to those who might be disappointed, but writing is what my soul needs! Maybe you’ll appreciate it when Vianna makes an appearance soon!

Conclusion

That’s all I’ve got this week. Short, sweet, and slightly impactful! I’ll have more information on Harmonizer here soon, so keep an eye out for changes to the site as well as a piece focused on Gale here soon! With all that being said, cheers!
